| The Marooush is fast becoming a popular venue for anyone looking for something special - not far from Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm - and wanting to relax and enjoy themselves in a restaurant that offers a unique and welcoming feel. It has an international clientele and the atmosphere is convivial. The restaurant is known for its Egyptian and oriental cuisine which is highly acclaimed by diners and critics. Specialities include oriental style barbecue, lamb, couscous and mezze dishes. A particular highlight on the menu is the Königlich-kulinarische Reise den Nil entlang (The regal culinary Nile cruise), which offers a selection of at least 18 different hot and cold, vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The Marooush serves specially imported wines from Lebanon, Morocco and other Arab and European countries, oriental shakes and some unique desserts. The restaurant is particularly busy and lively on Fridays and Saturdays, with professional belly dance performances and/or live music enhancing the restaurant’s authentic and exotic feel. We strongly recommend that you book in advance. Later in the evening the DJ will play an international selection of fabulous dance music. The guests take to the floor and the place turns into one big multi-cultural party. Every now and then the Marooush arranges a variety of themed evenings including the so-called Night of the Roses and Jazz Oriental (dates provided on request). The restaurant puts on special programmes to mark special events, such as New Year, Valentine’s Day and major sporting events. The lounge which is separated off by a glass partition and semi-transparent curtains is a particularly attractive area to sit. You can relax and smoke a hokkah (shisha) in oriental style, sample the pastries (The sweet Sin of the Orient), sip a chai (tea), savour an Arab mocha and immerse yourself in a world of fragrance and luxury. The popular shisha lounge is the place to meet after a shopping trip or before or after going out with friends. It is a place you can escape to. It also has its own bar with a good selection of drinks. In fine weather you can sit out on the large covered terrace where you can relax, enjoy yourself, look around and be seen. The adjoining Marooush Club has an oriental and intimate feel with its cosy private rooms. There are various events where you can meet friends and get to know people. You can dance to the R’n’B, soul, oriental and house sounds played by the DJ. The Club is also available for hire. The Marooush offers flexibility and privacy in terms of its accommodation. It is spacious, has a range of technical equipment and a central location in City-West. It is therefore a very suitable and sought-after venue for all sorts of private, cultural and business events. |
